Haryana News: Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has decided to take strict action against those consumers who have not paid their electricity bills. The department has made preparations to cut the connections of such defaulter consumers. If these consumers do not deposit the outstanding amount soon, their electricity connections will be cut.
Crores of rupees due on defaulters
There are about 27,000 defaulter consumers in the five divisions of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam. Crores of rupees are due to the department on them, which they are not paying. Now the department has decided to take strict action and teams have been formed. These teams will go to the houses of defaulter consumers and collect the amount of electricity bill. Those consumers who do not pay the bill, their electricity connections will be cut.
Appealed to the general public to pay bills on time
Executive Engineer of Southern Haryana Electricity Distribution Corporation Ranbir Singh said that five divisions have been created in the district, which include City, Sabar One, Satnali Sub Division, Buchawas Sub Division and Kanina Sub Division.
He said that if a consumer’s electricity bill is high, then he can choose the option of part time payment. This will not cause any problem to the consumer and he will be able to pay the bill easily. He appealed to the public to pay the electricity bill on time. Otherwise, the connections will be disconnected.
It seems the official is suggesting that if a consumer faces a high electricity bill, they can opt for part-time payment or installment options, which would make it easier for them to manage and pay the bill without facing financial strain. However, he also emphasized the importance of paying the bill on time. If the payment is delayed or not made, the consequence could be disconnection of the electricity supply. This is likely a reminder to encourage timely payments and reduce overdue accounts while offering flexibility to those who might be struggling with high bills.
