The recruitment process for more than 9 thousand teacher posts can be started soon in the government schools of the country’s capital Delhi. This recruitment will be done for the post of permanent teachers. A draft is being prepared on this by the Directorate of Education.
Recruitment decision after audit
This recruitment will be done under the examination conducted by the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB). This recruitment process can start from this academic session. According to the information, at present there are more than 70 thousand posts in government schools. Out of these, about 66 thousand teachers are working. About 12 thousand teachers are temporary. The Education Department has decided to recruit after the audit report came.
Shortage of teachers
The then Aam Aadmi Party government had presented government schools as an education model, but the future of the students was being nurtured amidst the shortage of teachers. In the previous government, mostly temporary teachers were recruited. Not only this, temporary teachers were recruited in those posts where teachers left the post for some reason.
Notification likely to be issued in April or May
A senior officer of the Directorate informed that teachers will be recruited as Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) and Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT). He said that the notification is likely to be issued in April or May.
The level of education will improve
General Secretary of the Government School Teachers Association, Ajay Veer Yadav, alleged that the previous government has made big claims of revolutionary changes in the education system in government schools, while there was nothing like this on the ground level. With the recruitment of teachers, the level of education in schools will improve and students will be able to get good education and make their future bright.
