On this day, Rohit Sharma, who was not playing well in the ongoing IPL 2025 season, showed signs of his usual form in the Mumbai Indians (MI) vs Sunrisers Hyderabad match 33 on April 17 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Although Rohit Sharma could not make a big score, he gave Mumbai Indians a good start with 26 runs from 16 balls. He hit three sixes in his innings. His first six against SRH came off Mohammed Shami’s bowling. This also became his 100th six at Wankhede Stadium. He became the first player ever to hit 100 sixes at this Mumbai ground. He also became the fourth player in IPL history to hit 100 or more sixes at one stadium, joining Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle. Rohit is the first player to do this outside Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Rohit Sharma’s Stylish Six
On the fifth ball of the third over in MI’s innings, Shami bowled a back-of-a-length ball aimed at leg and middle. Rohit hit a stylish pull off his hips and sent the ball into the top tier over square leg.
