Messi in India after 14 years
Earlier, he had visited India in the year 2011. Now, after 14 years, he has returned to Indian soil. Lionel Messi arrived in Kolkata on December 13th at around 3:30 a.m. The football wizard received a warm welcome at the airport. He was dressed in a coat and pants, while his teammate Luis Suarez wore a white T-shirt. Fans cheered him on at the airport, their excitement palpable, eager to catch a glimpse of the legendary footballer.
Lionel Messi will participate in several public interactions and cultural performances during his India tour. Kolkata is his first stop, where a meet-and-greet session will be held for him. He will then virtually unveil his 70-foot-tall statue at the Sreebhumi Sporting Club in Lake Town.
Concerts and special events will then be held at the Salt Lake Stadium. Several big names, including former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, are expected to join Messi in Kolkata.
A friendly match also schedule to take
A friendly football match will also be held between Mohun Bagan and Diamond Harbour FC. Lionel Messi will then honor Bengal’s Santosh Trophy team. He is also expected to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He is also likely to meet with several sports figures later.
