South Africa was chasing around 350 runs in the first game in Ranchi and lost by just 17 runs. However, they successfully chased down 359 runs in Raipur to win. Virat Kohli was named Player of the Series in the ODIs against South Africa, scoring 302 runs at an average of 151 in three matches. Kohli scored 135 in the first ODI in Ranchi, followed by an innings of 102 in the second ODI in Raipur. Kohli scored an unbeaten 65 in Visakhapatnam.
