The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is being jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka and will begin on February 7th. A total of 20 teams are participating in the tournament, including New Zealand. The Kiwi Cricket Board has announced its 15-member squad for this important tournament, which includes several players who are not yet fully fit.

The team is laced with young and experienced players

The New Zealand team has been placed in Group D in the upcoming T20 World Cup, where it will begin its campaign on February 8th with a match against Afghanistan. New Zealand has announced its 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, in which it has handed the captaincy responsibility to long-time member and experienced spin bowler Mitchell Santner.

Apart from this, the names of Finn Allen and Mark Chapman are also included in the team, both of whom will now be seen returning to the field after being completely fit after being unfit. Apart from this, the name of fast bowler Lockie Ferguson is also included, who is currently struggling with fitness problems and has not played any match in international cricket since November 2024.

The Kiwi Cricket Board also issued a statement regarding these players, clarifying that all players will be fielded in a planned manner when fully fit and will be available before the tournament begins. The Kiwi squad also includes Adam Milne, who last played in July 2025, and Jimmy Neesham.
