The mini-auction for the 19th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. ​​While many players saw a shower of wealth, several others faced disappointment. In the 2026 mini-auction, Cameron Green became the most expensive player, bought for ₹25.20 crore.

On the other hand, among uncapped players, Prashant Veer became the most expensive. He was acquired by Chennai Super Kings in the all-rounder category for ₹14.20 crore. His base price was ₹30 lakh, but the bidding continued to rise, and finally, Chennai Super Kings secured him. Prashant Veer has become the most expensive uncapped player in IPL history.

Sri Lankan player receives ₹18 crore.

Sri Lankan fast bowler Matheesha Pathirana also struck gold. He was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹18 crore. With this, Pathirana also became the most expensive Sri Lankan player. Leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi also attracted significant bids and received a lot of money.

Indian all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer, who was bought for ₹23.75 crore last year, could only fetch ₹7 crore in the IPL 2026 auction. He was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

KKR bought New Zealand’s Finn Allen for ₹2 crore, and the Mumbai Indians bought Quinton de Kock for ₹1 crore. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians bought South African wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock for just 1 crore rupees in the auction.
