In the third Test match played at the historic ground of Lord’s, England defeated Team India by 22 runs. In this match, the top-order batsmen of Team India performed very disappointingly in the second innings, and this became the main reason for India’s defeat. The performance of players like opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, captain Shubman Gill, and Karun Nair was very poor for India.
Jaiswal could score only 13 runs in the third Test, while Nair could score only 54 runs. Talking about Gill, he scored only 22 runs in both innings. After the end of the third Test, former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin has strongly attacked the top order of Team India and strongly criticized them.

Azharuddin made a big statement on Indian batsmen
Talking to PTI, Mohammad Azharuddin said, “I think we did not bat properly. In the second innings, we should have batted positively. We lost four wickets before the end of the fourth day’s play. It is not so easy to chase the target on the fifth day.” He further said, “It is always said that it is very important for us to have some good partnerships. You can always say that ‘anyone can become wise after the event’.” This shows his disappointment that the batsmen did not support when it was needed.
Praise for the lower order, but regret for the defeat
Former player Azharuddin further said, “I would like to congratulate the lower-order batsmen. They batted brilliantly. Jadeja also did his job well.” He also added, “But I think if we had scored 15 to 20 more runs in the four-five overs of Root and Bashir, when they were bowling, the task would have been even easier. I liked Jadeja’s way of batting. But the result did not come in India’s favor. In the second innings, we were completely weakened. Rahul also batted brilliantly, but at some places we gave good bowlers a chance to bowl aggressively.”

England won the Lord’s Test
In the first Test match played between these two teams in Leeds, England won by 5 wickets, while India won the second Test by 336 runs. Now England has also won the third Test. After winning this Test match, England is ahead 2-1 in the 5-match series.
Now the fourth Test match between these two teams is starting from 23 July at Old Trafford in Manchester. To make a comeback, Team India will have to improve its top order and take the field with a strong strategy.
