Before the Champions Trophy 2025, the Pakistan team defeated the West Indies by 127 runs in the first Test of the 2-match series. The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest ICC Test Players rankings Today. Pakistan batsman Saud Shakeel has gained three places, moving into the top-10 batsmen rankings. Shakeel reached the 8th position with 753 rating points, surpassing India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant (739 points) and Australia’s veteran Steve Smith (746 points), who are now 10th and 9th respectively. Shakeel scored 84 runs in the first Test between Pakistan and the West Indies in Multan, where Pakistan won by 127 runs. England’s Joe Root remains the number one Test batsman, followed by Kane Williamson (867) in second and Yashasvi Jaiswal (847) in third.

Shakeel Moves Up, Pant and Smith Lose Positions

Saud Shakeel rose 3 places to 8th position in the ICC Men’s Batting Rankings. Steve Smith lost one place, slipping to 9th. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant also dropped one spot, moving from 9th to 10th. Pakistan’s Babar Azam fell 4 places, now at 16th. Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill each gained one place, while Rohit Sharma dropped to 43rd position.

Noman Ali and Sajid Khan Enter Top-10

Pakistan spinner Noman Ali has also entered the top-10 in the ICC Test bowlers’ rankings. Noman moved to the 9th position with 761 points, after taking 6 wickets in the first Test. Meanwhile, Pakistan spinner Sajid Khan jumped 18 places to 23rd position with 621 points. He was named Player of the Match after his brilliant performance against the West Indies, taking 4 wickets in the first innings and 5 in the second. West Indies’ Jomel Warrican (521 points) also made a significant move, rising 12 places to 41st position after taking 10 wickets in the match.

Jasprit Bumrah Maintains Top Spot

India’s Jasprit Bumrah continues to dominate the ICC Test Bowlers Rankings with 908 points. Australia’s captain Pat Cummins (841 points) and South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada (837 points) occupy second and third places respectively.

No Change in ICC Test Allrounder Rankings

There were no changes in the top-10 ICC Men’s Test Allrounder rankings. India’s Ravindra Jadeja (400 points) remains in the top spot, followed by South Africa’s Marco Jansen (294 points) and Bangladesh’s Mehdi Hasan (263 points).
