New Delhi: In cricket, fans often pray for their favorite team’s victory. Many times, fans perform rituals, prayers, and even special ceremonies to ensure their team wins. However, an unusual case has emerged where a former Indian and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) cricketer is praying for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to lose the IPL trophy.
Rayudu’s Controversial Comment
Yes, you heard it right! Former cricketer Ambati Rayudu recently made a surprising statement, saying that he would pray that RCB never wins the IPL trophy.
During a live commentary session, former RCB coach Sanjay Bangar was praising the team’s performance, stating that RCB had shown great form in the last few seasons and even made a strong comeback in the previous season to secure a place in the playoffs. Bangar further added that this time, RCB might finally lift the trophy.
Hearing this, Rayudu burst into laughter and sarcastically responded, “Yes, of course! They will reach Qualifier 2 this time.” When Bangar pointed out that RCB fans were watching the show, Rayudu boldly replied, “Let them watch.”
Rayudu’s Loyalty to CSK
In an earlier interview, Rayudu had already expressed his thoughts about RCB’s chances of winning the IPL. He admitted that “A time will come when RCB will win the trophy, but I pray that it never happens.” The reason behind his statement was his deep loyalty to CSK, as he wants them to win the IPL every year.
IPL 2025: Tournament Schedule and Opening Match
The 18th season of IPL is set to begin on March 22, 2025, and the final match will take place on May 25, 2025. The tournament opener will feature an exciting clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Last season, RCB managed to reach the playoffs despite winning only six matches. However, their journey ended in the Eliminator match against Rajasthan Royals.
With IPL 2025 around the corner, the big question remains: Will RCB finally win the trophy, or will Rayudu’s prayers come true?
