The Sydney Sixers announced this on social media. They wrote, “We are ready to welcome Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood. He will join the BBL as a supplementary contracted player in the 15th season of the Big Bash League.”
It should be noted that supplementary contracts in the Big Bash League mean that if a player is contracted with Cricket Australia and is free, he can be signed for the BBL. This saves BBL teams from having to search for new players.

It remains to be seen how many matches he will get to play this season. He has played a total of 19 matches in this tournament so far, taking 26 wickets.
The Sydney Sixers’ performance in the ongoing Big Bash League season hasn’t been particularly impressive. They have played six matches so far, winning three and losing three. With six points, Sydney is fourth in the points table.
