The 15-player Indian team for the Asia Cup 2025 has been announced. Test skipper Shubman Gill was on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, appointed as the vice-captain of India’s T20 team for the Asia Cup. Pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah has also been included in the 15-member squad. The tournament will start on September 9 in the UAE. Gill last played a T20 match against Sri Lanka at Pallekele in 2024. He has now replaced Axar Patel as the deputy to captain Suryakumar Yadav.

The surprise in the team is that Shreyas Iyer has been left out. Other players who were expected to play but did not make the team are Mohammad Siraj, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Axar Patel.
