The wedding of Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal was one of the most talked-about weddings in Bollywood and the cricket world, was cancelled after a lot of speculations. Amidst the constant spread of news on social media, the two have now put an end to all the rumors by posting an Instagram story for the first time.
They were supposed to tie the knot on November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, but the wedding was postponed indefinitely after the cricketer’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suddenly fell ill. The couple has now announced their divorce on Instagram.

Following the announcement of their cancellation of marriage, Smriti Mandhana took a big decision, unfollowing Palash on Instagram and deleting all photos with Palash from social media. Furthermore, Mandhana also unfollowed Palash’s sister, renowned singer Palak Muchhal.

Sharing a note on Instagram Story on Sunday, Palash Muchhal wrote, “I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship. This has been a very difficult time for me as people have been blindly believing baseless rumours that have no basis.”
Palash said, “For me, this relationship is extremely sacred, and burdening it with unverified statements hurts deeply. As a society, we must be careful before jumping to conclusions about anyone, otherwise our words can leave wounds that can potentially last forever.”

Meanwhile, cricketer Smriti Mandhana also posted on her Instagram story and wrote, “There has been a lot of speculation about my life over the past few weeks, and I feel it’s important for me to speak out at this time. I’m a very private person, and I’d like to keep it that way, but I need to clarify that the wedding is canceled.”
She further wrote, “I want to put this matter to rest here and I ask that you all do the same. I request that you respect the privacy of both families at this time and give us time to move on… I believe there’s a greater purpose behind all of us, and for me, that has always been representing my country at the highest level. I hope to continue playing for India as long as I can, winning trophies, and that will always be my focus. Thank you all for your support. Now it’s time to move on.”
