In the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup, the Pakistan cricket team defeated Team India by 191 runs. After Sameer Minhas’s century and the brilliant performance of the bowlers led by Ali Raza, Pakistan won the Under-19 Asia Cup title.
After winning the Under-19 Asia Cup title, the Pakistan cricket team received 15000 US dollars as prize money, which is worth approximately 13.43 lakh in Indian rupees. The amount can sound good, but if we take a look on other ICC events, then, there the price money used to be much higher.
Amount of prize money for Pakistan
Now the question arises: how much money will the Pakistan team’s players and support staff receive? Pakistan’s squad for this Asia Cup consisted of 15 players, along with a few support staff members. Consequently, after winning the Asia Cup, Pakistani players will receive less than 100,000 rupees. Teams typically receive much larger prize money after winning major tournaments.
Team India remained undefeated throughout the tournament, but Pakistan halted their winning streak in the final. India had defeated Pakistan in the group stage, but Pakistan won the final in a one-sided fashion. This marked Pakistan’s second consecutive title win. Previously, they had won the tournament jointly in 2012. India had previously won the 2012 Asia Cup, but the match ended in a tie. The Indian team has won the Asia Cup six times.
Sameer Minhas received two awards
In the final match, Team India won the toss and elected to bowl. Taking advantage of this, the Pakistan Under-19 team scored 347 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. Team India could not chase this target and was all out for 156 runs. Sameer Minhas received the Player of the Match and Series awards for his outstanding performance. Vaibhav Suryavanshi batted brilliantly for Team India in this tournament, while Deepesh Devendran was excellent in bowling.
