If you are facing difficulties in obtaining your ration or need to correct an error on your ration card, you no longer need to make repeated visits to government offices or stand in long queues outside them.
To facilitate citizens, the Department of Food and Public Distribution has launched a special digital helpline and chatbot service called ‘Ann Sahayata’. Through this service, you can now register ration card-related complaints directly from your phone by sending a message to the WhatsApp number 9868200445.
How to register a complaint on WhatsApp?
First, save the central government’s official helpline number, 9868200445, on your smartphone.
Open WhatsApp and send ‘Hi’ or ‘Namaste’ to this number.
The chatbot will offer you a choice of languages, such as Hindi, English, Bengali, etc.
To verify your identity, you will need to enter your ration card number and the last four digits of your Aadhaar card.
Select your issue from the list displayed on the screen—such as non-receipt of rations, under-weighing, dealer misconduct, or the need for card corrections.
Type out the full details of your complaint and send it.
How to check the action taken on your complaint
Once the complaint is submitted, you will receive a complaint registration number via WhatsApp. You can use this number to check the status of your complaint online at any time.
