New Train Launch: Indian Railways is introducing new trains to ensure passenger convenience and a hassle-free travel experience. Several regulations have also been implemented to benefit passengers. The holy month of Shravan begins this year on Thursday, July 30, and concludes on August 28. Indian Railways has initiated preparations to provide better facilities for Lord Shiva’s devotees during this period. In this context, the East Central Railway zone has announced the operation of two special trains between Ranchi and Bhagalpur, running via Koderma, Tilaiya, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Kiul, Jamalpur, and Sultanganj.
Train Numbers: 08690/08689 – Ranchi-Bhagalpur-Ranchi Shravani Mela Special
Train No. 08690 (Ranchi-Bhagalpur Shravani Mela Special) will operate from July 26 to September 9. It will depart from Ranchi every Sunday and Wednesday at 17:40. The train will reach Bhagalpur at 06:30, halting at Muri, Bokaro Steel City, Chandrapura, Gomoh, Parasnath, Hazaribagh Road, Koderma, Tilaiya, Nawada, Warisaliganj, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Kiul, Abhaipur, Jamalpur, and Sultanganj.
On the return journey, Train No. 08689 (Bhagalpur-Ranchi Shravani Mela Special) will depart from Bhagalpur at 09:10 every Monday and Thursday between July 27 and September 10. It will reach Ranchi at 22:20, halting at Sultanganj, Jamalpur, Abhaipur, Kiul, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Warisaliganj, Nawada, Tilaiya, Koderma, Hazaribagh Road, Parasnath, Gomoh, Chandrapura, Bokaro Steel City, and Muri stations.
Train No. 08646/08645: Ranchi-Bhagalpur-Ranchi Shravani Mela Special
The Shravani Mela Special train will operate from Bhagalpur every Monday and Thursday between July 27 and September 10, 2026. On the return journey, the train will run from Ranchi to Bhagalpur every Sunday and Wednesday from July 26 to September 9, 2026. The train is scheduled to depart from Bhagalpur at 3:30 PM and from Ranchi at 6:30 PM.
En route, the train will stop at Barkakana, Hazaribagh Town, Koderma, Tilaiya, Nawada, Warisaliganj, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Kiul, Abhaipur, Jamalpur, and Sultanganj before reaching Bhagalpur.
For the return journey, Train No. 08645 (Bhagalpur-Ranchi Shravani Mela Special) will depart from Bhagalpur at 9:10 AM on Tuesdays and Saturdays from July 28 to September 12. It will reach Ranchi at 9:40 PM (21:40 hours), stopping at Sultanganj, Jamalpur, Abhaipur, Kiul, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Warisaliganj, Nawada, Tilaiya, Koderma, Hazaribagh Town, and Barkakana stations.
