Benefits offered under the scheme
A key feature of the PM Vishwakarma scheme is that beneficiaries receive training upon joining. Initially, beneficiaries are provided a stipend of ₹500 for the training period. In addition, beneficiaries receive ₹15,000 to purchase the tools they need for their work.
Loan details
Under the PM Vishwakarma scheme, once they complete their training, the government facilitates loans to help them start their own businesses. Beneficiaries availing of loans under this scheme are charged a low interest rate. Initially, a loan of up to ₹1 lakh is provided, repayable over a period of 18 months. After repaying the ₹1 lakh loan, beneficiaries can avail of a loan of ₹2 lakh, with a repayment tenure of 30 months.
Eligibility criteria
To avail the benefits of the PM Vishwakarma scheme, the beneficiary must engage in a traditional trade. Additionally, the applicant must be at least 18 years of age. Eligible individuals include doll and toy makers, weapon makers, sculptors, basket/mat/broom makers, tailors, garland makers, masons, carpenters, cobblers, fishing net makers, washermen, blacksmiths, barbers, boat makers, and stone carvers. No family member of the applicant should hold a government job. Additionally, the applicant must not have availed of a loan under schemes like PM SVANidhi, Mudra, or PMEGP in the past five years.
How to apply for the PM Vishwakarma Scheme:
To apply for the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, first visit a CSC centre.
Provide your Aadhaar card and the mobile number linked to it to the operator.
Complete the Aadhaar biometric e-KYC process.
Provide details regarding your family and ration card.
Select your specific trade from the list of 18 traditional occupations.
Enter your bank account details.
Once the application form is completed, you will receive the PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card.
After the form is processed, you will receive basic skill training, a sum of ₹15,000, and the first loan instalment of ₹1 lakh.
