PM VBRY: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has detailed a straightforward procedure to activate Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for recipients of the Pradhan Mantri Vikas Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PM VBRY). This enables the benefits from the scheme to be directly credited into the beneficiary’s bank account.
To set up the DBT service, eligible beneficiaries need to link their Aadhaar with their bank account (Aadhaar seeding) to seamlessly access the scheme’s benefits. EPFO posted on its official X handle, “Are you a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Vikas Bharat Rojgar Yojana? Learn how to activate DBT in your bank account to receive the incentive amount directly.” EPFO has also shared a video guiding eligible beneficiaries on how to link their bank account with Aadhaar and activate DBT.
According to EPFO, all eligible beneficiaries of PM VBRY and other government schemes utilizing DBT must link their bank accounts with Aadhaar. The incentive amount will not be directly transferred if the bank account is not linked with Aadhaar.
Here are the 8 simple steps to activate DBT online as per EPFO:
Visit the NPCI official website.
Navigate to the Customer section and choose the Bharat Aadhaar Seeding Enabler option.
Click on Aadhaar Seeding.
Enter your complete Aadhaar number.
Choose the Seeding option under Request for Aadhaar.
Select the bank where your account is held.
Input your bank account number and verify it.
Tick the consent box, complete the captcha, and submit the request.
EPFO mentions that it might take a few business days for the Aadhaar seeding update to be reflected in their records. In case the online process fails, carefully repeat the steps or contact your bank branch. Aadhaar seeding can also be carried out offline. Beneficiaries who prefer not to go through the online process or face issues with it can visit their nearest bank branch to complete the process.
For offline Aadhaar seeding, beneficiaries will need to present their Aadhaar card and other relevant original documents at the bank. They will be required to fill out and submit the Aadhaar Seeding Consent Form. The bank will then verify the documents and update the information in the NPCI Mapper. After completion, the new status will reflect in EPFO’s records within a few business days.
