Sethi gives his opinion on the entire controversy.

The Pakistani government has refused to allow its team to play against India. Meanwhile, PCB Chairman Najam Sethi has given his opinion. He explained why Pakistan and Bangladesh have chosen different paths. He also accused the BCCI of intimidating other boards.

Speaking to a private channel, Najam Sethi said that the tension between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and other boards is nothing new. According to him, the BCCI, taking advantage of being the richest cricket board in the world, has often intimidated other ICC members. Sethi clarified, “I am not the PCB spokesperson; I am just expressing my personal opinion. In Pakistan, the government was consulted before this decision was made. There are still 10-15 days left before the match, and discussions are ongoing. I hope a good solution will be found.

The real problem, according to Sethi, lies with the BCCI.

Najam Sethi said that the real problem is the BCCI’s attitude. They have been trying to intimidate and bully people at every level. Previously, Pakistan was isolated because everyone sided with India. I negotiated until the last minute regarding joining the ‘Big Three,’ but we flatly refused.

We felt this system was fundamentally flawed. The ‘Big Three’ refers to India, Australia, and England, whicho receive a large share of the ICC’s revenue. Sethi further added that the PCB had major objections to the revenue-sharing model and wanted the money to be distributed more equitably. Discussions on the India-Pakistan series took place during Srinivasan’s tenure as BCCI president. Sethi said, “Nine boards had signed the agreement.

For information, the ICC T20 World Cup will begin on February 7th. The final and championship match will be played on March 8, 2026. All teams will be vying for the ICC trophy.
