SHS Bihar New Vacancy 2025 Posts
The State Health Committee, Bihar, has made this recruitment for the appointment of Ophthalmic Assistants in all the hospitals of the state under the National Health Mission (NHM). The posts have been kept according to the category. Unreserved 87, EWS 22, SC 35, ST 03, EBC 40, BC 26, and WBC 07.
Eligibility for Bihar Ophthalmic Assistant
To apply for the posts of Bihar Ophthalmic Assistant, the candidate must have an I.Sc. Intermediate Science with Biology or Mathematics or 10+2 (Intermediate) with Biology or Mathematics subjects, and after that, 2 2-year Diploma in Optometry or have taken training as an Ophthalmic Assistant in a Government Hospital for 2 years.
Candidates should have done I.Sc (Biology or Mathematics) or 10+2 Biology or Mathematics and after that a 2-year Diploma in Ophthalmic Assistant from any Government/Private/Semi-Government Institute, which is recognized by the Government of Bihar.
Ophthalmic Assistant Jobs 2025 Age Limit
Talking about the age limit, the minimum age should be 21 years, and the maximum age should be according to the category as of 1st August 2025. The age limit for the unreserved category/EWS (male) is 37 years, for backward class/extremely backward class (male and female) is 40 years, for unreserved/EWS (female) is 40 years, and for scheduled caste/scheduled tribe (male and female) is 42 years.
Salary
The salary in this will be Rs 15,000 per month.
Selection Process
The selection process will be through a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
Application Fee
To apply for these posts, candidates of general category/backward class/extremely backward class/economically weaker section will have to pay Rs 500, SC/ST candidates of Bihar will have to pay Rs 125, reserved/unreserved category female candidates (resident of the state) will have to pay Rs 125, Divyang candidates will have to pay Rs 125 and all other candidates will have to pay Rs 500 as application fee.

People are being recruited on contract for this. In the written examination, questions total of 100 marks will be asked from General Knowledge, Knowledge Application, and Reasoning / Numerical Ability / Technical Ability. This exam is for 2 hours.
