Monsoon Alert – The weather has rapidly changed, resulting in fog in many places and cloud movement in other areas. Many parts of South India are still experiencing rain even after the monsoon has departed. The situation is such that rain accompanied by thunderstorms occurred late at night.

There is no hope of relief for the next three days. Furthermore, the impact of a western disturbance is being felt in the hilly states for two days. Due to this, rain and snowfall are expected in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Temperatures are dropping in Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi NCR. Dense fog has been lingering since morning. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in the states. Heavy Rain Warning in Several States

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, rain is expected from the hilly states to the lower regions. A warning has been issued for light to moderate rain in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir on December 13th due to a western disturbance. Scattered rain is also possible in Uttarakhand.

The weather in these three states is expected to remain poor until December 15th. In addition, rain accompanied by thunderstorms has been forecast in some areas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry. Rain is also expected in parts of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, a cold wave with dense fog is also expected in the northeastern states.

Punjab-Haryana Weather

According to the IMD, the chilling cold has begun to trouble people in Punjab and Haryana. Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 6.8 degrees Celsius on Friday, two degrees below normal.

According to the IMD, the minimum temperature in Amritsar is expected to drop to 5.8 degrees Celsius, in Ludhiana to 6.2 degrees Celsius, in Patiala to 6.7 degrees Celsius, in Pathankot to 6.5 degrees Celsius, and in Bathinda to 6 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Faridkot is expected to drop to 5.2 degrees Celsius, and in Gurdaspur to 7 degrees Celsius. The cold wave is expected to intensify here.

Western Disturbance to Activate in Kashmir

According to the Meteorological Department, the severe cold in Kashmir is likely to cause further problems. The cold has begun to impact life in most parts of the valley.

According to the IMD, on December 13, the minimum temperature in Srinagar was recorded at 0 to 3 degrees Celsius, Qazigund at 0 to 2.4 degrees Celsius, and Kupwara at minus 3 degrees Celsius. Pahalgam recorded 0 to 4 degrees Celsius, and Gulmarg at 0 to 3 degrees Celsius. The temperature is expected to remain below 0 to 5.5 degrees Celsius in Pulwama and 0 to 5 degrees Celsius in Shopian.
