New Delhi: US President Donald Trump had threatened to completely obliterate Iran’s civilisation; however, a piece of news offering relief to the entire world has now emerged. Amidst the heightened tensions, a mutual consensus has been reached between the United States and Iran. This agreement has been formally established for a period of two weeks.
For the next two weeks, the United States, Israel, and Iran will refrain from launching attacks against one another. President Donald Trump has expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for its role in facilitating this ceasefire. Iran, too, has extended its thanks to both China and Pakistan. A decision has also been taken to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for trade purposes. Iran had laid down several conditions regarding this, following which the decision to reopen the strait was finalised.

Trump Had Issued a Dire Threat to Iran
Before the ceasefire, tensions in the Middle East were running high. US President Donald Trump had threatened to bomb Iran’s power plants and bridges. Furthermore, he had shocked the world by threatening to wipe Iran’s civilisation off the face of the earth. Observers were interpreting this threat as a potential precursor to a nuclear strike. Trump had issued a clear warning: if Iran did not agree to a settlement or consent to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, it would face total annihilation.
No Damage Reported from Attack on Qatar
Amidst the ceasefire, Qatar announced that it had successfully neutralised a missile attack. Qatar’s Ministry of Defence stated shortly ago that the country’s armed forces had successfully intercepted a missile strike. It was not immediately clear exactly when this attack took place or who was responsible for it.

Pakistan Played the Role of Mediator in the Ceasefire
Pakistan played a pivotal role as a mediator in securing a two-week extension to the ceasefire deadline amidst the ongoing conflict between the US-Israel alliance and Iran. Pakistan had appealed to President Trump to extend the deadline. Addressing this matter on Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that US President Donald Trump is aware of Pakistan’s proposal, which requested a two-week extension to the deadline previously imposed on Iran.
