New Delhi: The situation between the United States and Iran has spiralled out of control, with avenues for dialogue appearing completely closed. US President Donald Trump has issued a dire warning to Iran. Ahead of a previously issued deadline, Trump has once again threatened to obliterate Tehran.
Donald Trump stated that by tonight, an entire civilisation would be completely wiped out—one that could never be restored. However, Iran has delivered a scathing retort to this threat from Trump. Responding to Trump, the Iranian Embassy in South Africa declared, “You and your allies will receive a response from Iran’s ancient civilisation that you will never be able to forget.

The situation arose after the US issued directives demanding that Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz. A deadline was set for this purpose, but Iran failed to comply. Iran refused to back down from its hardline stance; consequently, US President Donald Trump has escalated his rhetoric to an unprecedented level of severity. He threatened that if Tehran does not reopen this vital oil shipping lane, an entire civilisation will cease to exist by tonight.
Iran Delivers a Scathing Reply to the US
Although US President Donald Trump issued a stern threat to Iran, the latter appears to be taking it lightly. In a post on the social media platform X, the Iranian Embassy in South Africa wrote, “You and your allies will receive a response from Iran’s ancient civilisation that you will never be able to forget.

170 Schoolgirls Killed in Iran
In a separate post, the Embassy also shared a photograph of a grief-stricken mother whose child was killed during US-Israeli attacks in Minab this past February. This incident followed missile strikes—reportedly targeting a primary school—that occurred in the wake of the assassination of Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei; the attacks resulted in the deaths of approximately 170 schoolgirls.
In its post, the Embassy wrote, “Remember this sorrow, this anger, and this face.” ‘We won’t let you go.’ Mocking Trump’s threats, the Iranian Embassy in Zimbabwe wrote, ‘These words are too big for your mouth. Stop embarrassing your people.’
