New Delhi: A major accident occurred during metro construction work in the financial capital, Mumbai. A portion of cement from a metro pillar under construction suddenly broke off and fell, hitting a passing autorickshaw and car. Four people were injured. The incident occurred near Johnson & Company on LBS Marg in Mulund, Mumbai.
The incident was reported at approximately 12:20 pm. Upon receiving the information, the fire brigade, local police, metro authority personnel, ward staff, and ambulances arrived at the scene. Rescue operations were immediately initiated.

Traffic Diverted
The police station has stopped vehicles from the surrounding area. Regular traffic has been closed, and people have been asked to use alternative routes.

Debris removal is underway. Police and related agencies are investigating the collapse. If negligence is found in the construction of the pillar, action may be taken against those responsible.
