New Delhi: Due to the southwest monsoon, heavy rains along with storms are continuing in many areas, due to which waterlogging has occurred in many places. The situation is so bad due to the rain that the roads resemble a swamp, and villages appear to be submerged. On the streets where there used to be a lot of vehicle movement, there are now waves of water. This scene encompasses various parts of Kerala, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu.
The monsoon that came earlier is now moving forward rapidly, causing people to be upset. On the other hand, a new Western Disturbance may become active in north-western India today, resulting in rainfall in many areas. Rain is also expected in the northeastern states. According to the IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain accompanied by thunder in many states across the country.
The possibility of rain in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, a low-pressure area is likely to remain in the northwest regions of the Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast. Now it is expected to move slowly. There may be heavy rains in the northeastern states and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till May 30. Heavy rains are expected in Sikkim, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh.
Heavy rains are being reported in Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Puducherry. A warning of heavy to hefty rains has been issued for the western coast (Kerala, Karnataka, coastal Maharashtra and Goa) over the next 3-4 days. With a new western disturbance, a period of rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds is expected to begin in northwest India.

According to the IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rains in many areas of interior Karnataka. Heavy rains are expected at many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam. An alert of heavy rains has been issued in Kerala, Mahe, South Interior Karnataka. Apart from these, heavy rains are expected to continue in many places in Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal for the next 24 hours. Heavy rains may occur in many parts of South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Winds are expected to blow at a speed of 50-60 km/h in Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema.
