Venkateswara Swamy Temple – A shocking incident has emerged from Andhra Pradesh. A tragic accident occurred in the Srikakulam district of the state. A sudden stampede at the Kashibugga Vijaya Venkateswara Temple caused chaos. Nine people were crushed to death, while several others were injured.
The injured were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital. Many remain in critical condition. The death toll may rise. The stampede was caused by a large number of devotees who had gathered at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple to have darshan of the deity on Devuthani Ekadashi. Relief and rescue operations are underway.
What is suspected to have caused the stampede?
Reports indicate that the railings installed for queues at the temple suddenly broke, causing devotees to fall. The temple was predominantly female. The temple is spread over 12 acres. According to locals, it was built in Kashibugga because if a devotee is unable to visit the Tirumala Srivari Temple, a visit here fulfils their wishes.
The temple was built on 12 acres at a cost of ₹10 crore. This accident occurred because a large number of devotees visited on the day of Devuthani Ekadashi. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the incident.
The Chief Minister said that the stampede at the Kashibugga Venkateswara Temple in Srikakulam district has shocked him. Chandrababu Naidu tweeted, “The stampede at the Kashibugga Venkateswara Temple in Srikakulam district has shocked him.”
