Pune Train Fire: A fire broke out in the toilet of a moving DEMU train in the Pune district of Maharashtra on Monday morning, causing panic among the passengers. According to the information, a fire broke out on the DEMU shuttle train running between Daund and Pune. This incident occurred when the train was on its scheduled route. Suddenly, upon seeing the flames and smoke, chaos erupted on the train.

According to the information, this fire broke out in the toilet of the train. Due to this, a person was trapped in the toilet itself, as the door was locked from the inside. There was chaos there after hearing the smoke and the screams of the passenger. Some passengers showed courage and broke the toilet door and took the person out safely.

One person was taken into custody. A railway police official in Daund has stated that the incident occurred near Yavat in Pune district at approximately 8 am. He stated that the fire was immediately brought under control, and there are no reports of anyone being injured in this incident. A railway spokesperson said that a person hailing from Madhya Pradesh has been detained in connection with the incident.

A police officer said that a passenger in the Daund-Pune DEMU train, after smoking a ‘bidi’, allegedly threw it in the dustbin near the train’s toilet. The officer said, “The incident took place around 8 am. There was paper and other garbage in the compartment, which caught fire, and after this, smoke started coming out of the toilet. Seeing this, there was panic among the passengers.” The fire was quickly extinguished, and no casualties have been reported in this incident.
