Why did the government take this step?
Officials said on Monday that 16 Pakistani YouTube channels have been blocked for allegedly broadcasting inflammatory and communally sensitive content as well as false and misleading statements against India, its army and security agencies.
Additionally, the government has decided to cancel all visa exemptions issued to Pakistani citizens under the SAARC framework. Along with this, the process of closing the Pakistani embassy in India is being started. The central government has instructed Pakistani diplomats to leave India within 48 hours.
