Pahalgam Attack: India Suspends Visa Services for Pakistani Citizens, Downgrades Diplomatic Ties

New Delhi: Ever since the terrorist attack in Pahalgam of Kashmir Valley, the government has been in alert mode. The Government of India is taking all strict steps regarding Pakistan. From the Indus Water Treaty to the suspension of visas, a decision has been taken. The Government of India has decided to suspend visa services for Pakistani citizens, effective immediately.

A warning has been issued to Pakistanis living in India to leave the country soon. All existing valid visas will be cancelled as of April 27, 2025. Only medical visas will be considered valid till April 29. Along with this, the Modi government has also instructed Indians to stay away from travelling to Pakistan. The government has urged Indians living in Pakistan to come to the country soon.

Modi government gave advice.

The central government has urged its citizens to refrain from travelling to Pakistan. Along with this, Indian citizens currently present in Pakistan have been encouraged to return to India immediately. The Government of India has taken significant action following the Pahalgam attack.

After the terrorist attack, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, NSA Ajit Doval, PM’s Special Secretary Dr. Shaktikanta Das, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, and RAW Chief Ravi Sinha participated in PM Modi’s meeting. Modi returned from his tour of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.

After several stages of discussion, the above decisions could be approved at the CCS meeting. Meanwhile, Misri informed that it was put before the CCS that this terrorist attack was carried out to stop the successful elections held recently in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and the pace of all-around development taking place there.

When did the terrorist attack happen

In Pahalgam of Anantnag, terrorists killed 26 people after asking bout their religion. The terrorists kept wreaking havoc in the park for about one and a half hours. From Jammu and Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Pakistan was unanimously held responsible for this attack.
