The Sudan Liberation Movement / Armed Forces on Monday said that a landslide fell on a village in the Marra Mountains area of western Sudan, killing at least 1,000 people. Only one person survived the accident. The landslide incident occurred on August 31, when soil slid in the mountainous area after several days of continuous heavy rain.
