New Delhi: Weather patterns across various parts of the country appear to be shifting, raising the likelihood of increased difficulties for the public. Moreover, the month of March is now in its final phase—a period of significant importance regarding seasonal transitions. In most parts of North India, the heat is already evoking memories of the peak summer season typically experienced in May and June.

Weather conditions are once again poised to undergo a change across several states, including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. Winds gusting up to 70 kilometres per hour are forecast for these regions. Detailed information regarding the specific alerts issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for various locations can be found below.

Warning of Heavy Rainfall and Storms in 13 States

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), an alert for moderate to heavy rainfall has been issued for Delhi, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan for the period between March 29 and March 31. Additionally, the IMD has issued an alert for March 30 and 31, forecasting light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and winds reaching speeds of up to 60 kilometres per hour in certain districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Furthermore, a possibility of heavy rainfall and storms has been indicated for Punjab until March 30, with winds expected to blow at speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kilometres per hour. The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning for light to moderate rainfall in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand between March 29 and March 30.

Rainfall Alerts for These Parts of the Country as Well

In Uttar Pradesh, rainfall could exacerbate difficulties for residents in the districts of Meerut, Baghpat, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, and Shamli. Apart from these, a possibility of rain has been forecast for Bareilly, Bulandshahr, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Kanpur, Hardoi, Hamirpur, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Firozabad, Etah, Bahraich, and Gonda.

In Bihar, rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms is anticipated in the districts of Araria, Purnia, Katihar, Saharsa, Supaul, Darbhanga, Madhubani, and Bhagalpur. Apart from these, a possibility of rain has been forecast for Khagaria, Banka, Jamui, Munger, Patna, Siwan, Buxar, Gaya, Jehanabad, West Champaran, and East Champaran.

In Himachal Pradesh, rain is likely in Shimla, Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Manali, Lahaul, and Spiti. Additionally, a possibility of heavy rainfall has been indicated for Sirmaur, Solan, Bilaspur, and Hamirpur.

In Uttarakhand, a rain alert has been issued for Nainital, Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Pauri Garhwal, Champawat, and Uttarkashi.

In Rajasthan as well, a possibility of rain has been forecast for Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Sri Ganganagar, Jodhpur, and Nagaur. Furthermore, rain may also occur in Bhilwara, Ajmer, Hanumangarh, and Alwar.

Rain Alert in These States as Well

According to the Meteorological Department, a rain alert accompanied by thunder and lightning has been issued for Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, and Odisha. Meanwhile, in Bihar, moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder, lightning, and strong winds is expected. An alert for moderate to heavy rainfall has been issued for Jharkhand during March 29 and from March 31 to April 2, and for Odisha from March 28 to April 1.
