Monsoon Update: The weather across the country is rapidly changing. The activation of a Western Disturbance in the Himalayan region has brought significant changes to the weather. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of snowfall and rain in hilly states such as Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. A low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal has triggered a yellow alert for heavy rain in southern states. Meanwhile, pollution levels in Delhi are severe, while light rain is expected in Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana. Dry weather is expected in many areas of North India, with a severe winter expected soon.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday. Meanwhile, weather changes are also expected in the northeastern states of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, as well as in Konkan, Goa, and Central Maharashtra.

Snowfall Alert
The Meteorological Department predicts that due to the impact of a western disturbance, higher elevations in the mountains may experience snowfall. In comparison, lower elevations may experience a new round of rain. According to the IMD, snowfall in the mountains and rain and strong winds in the plains may cause a drop in minimum temperatures. However, dry weather is expected in most states of North India after November 5th. Severe winters may begin after November 10th.

The IMD has issued an alert for thunderstorms and rain in the hilly states from November 5th to November 7th. Strong winds of up to 40-50 kilometres per hour are also possible in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

Rain warning in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also expected in Konkan and Goa, as well as Central Maharashtra, on November 5th and 6th. The Meteorological Department predicts that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on November 5th. Rain and thunderstorm alerts have also been issued for coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, and northern and southern interior Karnataka.
