Monsoon Forecast: Since the arrival of the monsoon, heavy rainfall has been observed in most states across the country. The heavy rains continue in most states in October. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several states. Meanwhile, the cyclonic storm formed in the Arabian Sea appears to be weakening. However, its remnants may move eastward over the next few days. The Meteorological Department has predicted increased rainfall in South India over the next five to six days. Rainfall is also expected in parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra over the next three to four days.

Rain Warning in These States

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate rainfall, with isolated heavy rain, is expected in many parts of South India between October 8 and 13. Rain and thunderstorm warnings have been issued for Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, and Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for strong winds accompanied by lightning in Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh, and Rayalaseema for the next five days.

According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall is expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Gangetic West Bengal, and Odisha for the next three to four days.

Bihar and Jharkhand are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall on October 8th. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also expected in eastern Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on October 8th. According to the IMD, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura may experience light to heavy rainfall from October 8th to 10th.

Rain is likely in Goa and Maharashtra
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rainfall is expected in Konkan, Goa, and Central Maharashtra on October 8th. Furthermore, thunderstorms and lightning are expected in many parts of Maharashtra for the next four days.
