Monsoon Alert – Uttar Pradesh is currently experiencing a peak in severe cold weather. Over the past two days, a slight increase in temperature was recorded in many parts of the state due to sunshine, providing some relief from the cold. However, after two days of respite, a renewed spell of cold wave is expected.
Since the morning of January 12th, dense fog has enveloped various parts of the state, from the ground to the sky, which could worsen the situation. The cold wave could become a major problem from Western UP to Purvanchal (Eastern UP). Dense fog since morning is causing difficulties for commuters. Dense Fog Expected in These Districts
According to the Meteorological Department, the intensity of the cold is likely to increase significantly once again in Uttar Pradesh. Dense fog is expected in approximately 40 districts of the state. Among these, there are 20 districts where dense fog could disrupt normal life.
On Monday, dense fog is expected in Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad, Bijnor, Meerut, Baghpat, Bulandshahr, and Hapur. Besides these, a fog alert has been issued for Gorakhpur, Deoria, Basti, Balrampur, and Sant Kabir Nagar.

Along with these, dense fog could also cause problems in Rampur, Bareilly, Ballia, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Chandauli, and Gonda. Fog with visibility between 300 and 800 meters will also be seen in Sitapur, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Shahjahanpur, Aligarh, Mathura, and Agra. A yellow alert has also been issued for fog in Firozabad, Etawah, Sambhal, and Moradabad.
Weather Forecast for These Two Cities
The state capital, Lucknow, will experience light fog. As the day progresses, sunshine is also expected. The minimum temperature in Lucknow will be 6 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature will be around 20 degrees Celsius. Noida, which is part of the Delhi-NCR region, is also likely to experience dense fog in the morning. Cold wave conditions are expected to prevail throughout the day. The minimum temperature in Noida is expected to be around 3 degrees Celsius, and the maximum around 15 degrees Celsius.
