Earthquake Strikes Nepal with 4.0 Magnitude, Tremors Felt as People Rush Out in Panic

Global Earthquake Activity Surges: It seems as if Mother Earth is shaking a lot these days! The series of earthquakes is not stopping. A strong earthquake has occurred in our neighboring country, Nepal, so the ground there trembled.

What is the truth? According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the intensity of this earthquake in Nepal was measured at 4.0 on the Richter scale. It was not a very big earthquake, but when people were sleeping in deep sleep early in the morning, their beds started shaking, so an atmosphere of fear was created among them, and they came out of their houses.

According to NCS, this earthquake in Nepal occurred at a depth of 25 kilometers inside the Earth. Despite being at such a depth, its tremors were felt quite strongly. NCS also said that this earthquake occurred at 4:30 in the morning.

Not only Nepal, but also Japan shook!

Surprisingly, during this time, earthquake tremors were also felt in Japan. The intensity of this earthquake was measured at 4.6 on the Richter scale.

Why are superficial earthquakes more dangerous?

You must have often heard that some earthquakes cause more destruction. This is because earthquakes near the Earth’s surface are more dangerous than deep earthquakes. This happens because being near the surface, their energy is released in greater quantity, so the earth shakes badly, buildings are damaged more, and there is more loss of life and property. On the other hand, the energy of earthquakes that occur at depth is reduced by the time they reach the surface.

It caused great destruction in Myanmar.

You must remember that before this, on March 28, a mighty earthquake of 7.7 magnitude had occurred in Myanmar. That earthquake caused great destruction there, in which tragically more than 3 thousand people lost their lives, and thousands of people went missing and became homeless. In that difficult time, India had helped Myanmar and Thailand in every possible way. Also, mild earthquake tremors were felt in Tibet a few days ago.
