Weather Update – Thunderstorm and Rain Alert in UP and Other States, IMD Issues Warning

New Delhi: From Jammu & Kashmir all the way to Kanyakumari, the weather pattern appears to be shifting these days. While some regions are witnessing passing clouds, others are experiencing drizzle or rising temperatures due to intense sunshine. Did you know that the weather is set to take a turn for the worse once again? Across regions ranging from the mountains to the plains, there is a forecast for rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.

The likelihood of rain persists in Delhi and the Delhi-NCR region. In Uttar Pradesh as well, the weather pattern has undergone a complete transformation. The weather is also expected to deteriorate in South India. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a heavy rainfall warning has been issued for several states across the country. Read on below for detailed information on what the weather will be like in various regions.

Rain Expected in These Districts of UP

The Meteorological Department has forecast rain for several districts in Uttar Pradesh. A possibility of rain has been indicated for Amethi, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Baghpat, Ballia, Banda, Basti, Bijnor, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, and Deoria. Additionally, rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is possible in Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Gorakhpur, Hamirpur, Jaunpur, Jhansi, Kaushambi, Kushinagar, Lalitpur, Maharajganj, Mahoba, and Mau.

The IMD has issued a rain warning for Meerut, Mirzapur, Muzaffarnagar, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Raebareli, Saharanpur, and Sant Kabir Nagar. Furthermore, rain is possible in Bhadohi, Shamli, Siddharthnagar, Sonbhadra, Sultanpur, Varanasi, and their surrounding areas.

Weather Outlook for Gujarat and Mumbai

According to the IMD, the impact of the heat is most pronounced in Gujarat. Temperatures here are currently being recorded between 35 and 39 degrees Celsius. Strong, hot winds have disrupted daily life. In Mumbai, the humid heat—driven by moisture from the sea—has caused discomfort to residents. Although the actual temperature here hovers between 30 and 33 degrees, the *real feel* (perceived heat) appears to be significantly higher. **Possibility of Rain in These Regions**

According to the Meteorological Department, Rajasthan is expected to experience intermittent rainfall until April 1st. The weather pattern across the state is predicted to remain variable over the coming days. Furthermore, the department has issued a warning for intermittent rain, strong winds, and isolated hailstorms at various locations across the state, continuing through April 1st. Meanwhile, there is a likelihood that these strong winds and hailstorms could have an adverse impact on standing crops. A ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for several districts, including Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Jaipur, and Alwar.

Relief from Rain in Southern States

The weather remains quite favourable in certain parts of South India. Pre-monsoon activities have already commenced in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. The IMD has forecast light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds in these states. Additionally, the movement of clouds in these regions is expected to lead to a noticeable drop in temperatures.
