New Delhi: The war between the US, Israel, and Iran continues to escalate, worsening the situation. Iran is now carrying out major drone attacks on US airbases in other countries. According to reports, Iran has caused a major uproar with a drone attack on Nakhchivan Airport in Azerbaijan.

According to a report in Azernews, Azerbaijan has condemned the drone attacks carried out from Iranian territory. These attacks targeted the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, causing damage to infrastructure and injuring civilians.

Azerbaijan is a friendly country of Pakistan, butit frequently issues statements against India. According to reports, these incidents occurred around noon on March 5th. Azerbaijani officials stated that two drones were launched from Iranian territory towards Nakhchivan. Meanwhile, it is reported that one drone struck the terminal building of Nakhchivan International Airport, damaging a portion of the facility.

The second drone crashed near a school building in the village of Shakhtarabad. Azerbaijani officials said the attack injured two civilians and damaged an airport building. However, Iran’s actions have escalated the conflict.

Azerbaijan Condemns

Azerbaijan has strongly condemned the Iranian attack, stating that such actions violate the norms and principles of international law. The Azerbaijani side also stated that the incident threatens to further escalate tensions in the region.

Azerbaijan has summoned the Iranian ambassador to lodge a formal protest. Baku has called on Tehran to immediately clarify the circumstances of the incident and respond. Officials have also demanded that the Iranian side take immediate steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
