This claim concerns India. He claimed that India will no longer buy crude oil from Iran. If Trump’s claim proves true, it would be a major commercial blow for Iran.

India has been a major buyer of crude oil from Iran. However, Donald Trump has made various claims about India and Russia in the past, which India later refuted publicly.

US President Donald Trump has surprised everyone with a major claim regarding India’s oil purchases. Donald Trump said that India will now buy oil from Venezuela instead of Iran. He said that a deal has been made with India regarding this. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, he said, “We’ve already made that deal.”
The concept of the deal has been finalised. India has not yet commented on this. A Reuters report stated that Trump’s statement came a day after the US signalled to New Delhi that it could soon resume buying oil from Venezuela to compensate for reduced imports of Russian crude oil.
Furthermore, Donald Trump said that the US has gained complete control over Venezuela after attempting to apprehend Nicolas Maduro in January. Venezuela, incidentally, has the world’s largest oil reserves.
