Weather Update: The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of rain in the midst of intense heat. The Alipore Meteorological Department has announced that rain is expected in the hilly regions and three nearby districts on Tuesday, with rainfall likely to pick up even more starting Wednesday.
They mentioned that due to the dry conditions in South Bengal, temperatures are set to rise gradually. The sea is expected to be rough near the coast on Tuesday night, and there’s a chance of tidal surges. Alipore has indicated that rain could hit the hilly areas of North Bengal, with potential showers in the upper five to six districts, including Darjeeling and Kalimpong, on Wednesday and Thursday.

Today, rain is predicted in three districts of North Bengal, including Darjeeling, and thunderstorms are likely in six districts on Wednesday. As for South Bengal, the Meteorological Department states that no rain is expected in any district right now, and dry weather will persist. Areas like Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, and others will remain rain-free.

Currently, Kolkata’s maximum temperature is expected to be around 32-33 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of about 24-25 degrees Celsius. Over the weekend, temperatures in South Bengal could rise by 2-4 degrees Celsius. For now, the skies will stay clear across South Bengal, including Kolkata.
The winter vibe is slowly disappearing in North Bengal. According to the Meteorological Department, there won’t be any rain in the area today. But, it looks like we might see some rain on Wednesday and Thursday.
