New Delhi: Ever since the Supreme Court of the country issued the order to sterilise stray dogs and catch and keep them in shelter homes, this decision has become a topic of discussion. This decision of the Supreme Court is being praised in some places, while in many places, dog lovers are opposing it. Dog lovers are condemning the court’s decision and even appealing for its withdrawal.

The Supreme Court has given this order only for Delhi-NCR. On the other hand, even before the copy of the court’s order arrives, the administration has started a campaign of arrests.

Dog lovers have expressed their displeasure by taking to the streets in many areas, including Rohini in Delhi. On Wednesday evening, a large number of people gathered at DC Chowk in Rohini Sector 9 and took out a peaceful candle march and demanded that the Supreme Court withdraw the decision.

Dog lovers asked questions to the government.

Dog lovers took to the streets against the decision of the Supreme Court. They were also seen asking questions to the court and the government with posters and banners in their hands. The protesters said that when there is already a huge shortage of shelter homes in Delhi, how will such a decision be implemented? If these stray animals are removed from the streets, then where will they be kept?

Are there adequate resources and care arrangements for them? Not only this, dog lovers have also questioned the functioning of the Delhi Municipal Corporation while protesting. They demanded that until shelter homes and adequate resources are arranged, implementing such a decision is not only impractical but also inhuman.

The Supreme Court should withdraw the decision.

According to the dog lovers who gathered in large numbers in the candle march, if the Supreme Court does not withdraw its decision soon, then this movement can take an even bigger form. They warned that this is not just a matter of a sensitive animal, but a social responsibility that cannot be ignored. This issue has highlighted the growing awareness towards animal rights.
