Laxmi pujan vidhi or shubh muhurat:- The festival of Diwali will be celebrated with great pomp and show across the country on 20th October this year. This year too, the worship of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha will be organised with great pomp and show in every house. According to astrologers, this year’s Diwali is different from the usual festival because many auspicious yogas and special muhurats are aligning together. The celebration of Diwali is celebrated a day after Dhanteras. The worship of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha has special significance on the day of Diwali. It is believed that on the night of Diwali, Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity and opulence, visits the earth and bestows her blessings on her devotees.

Diwali Puja Materials
Idols of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesha, and a sacred thread.
Clothing for all deities.
Ganga water, flowers, garlands, vermillion, and Panchamrit.
Kalash with sweets, perfume, a platform, and a red cloth.
Conch shell, seat, plate, and silver coin.
Lotus flower and havan kund.
Havan samagri, mango leaves, and prasad.
Roli, kumkum, rice grains, and betel leaves.
Betel nut, coconut, and earthen lamps.
Method of Lakshmi Puja
Before beginning the Lakshmi Puja, it is of special importance to clean the house. Sprinkle Ganga water everywhere.
Create a rangoli and a toran at the main entrance of the house.
Now, spread a new red cloth on a clean platform for Lakshmi Puja.
Now, install the idols of Lakshmi and Ganesha on the platform and decorate the platform with decorative items.
Dress the idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha in traditional attire and offer a scarf to the goddess.
Now, fill a clean pot with water and place it near the platform.
Apply a tilak to all the deities.
Adorn Lakshmi and Ganesha with garlands of flowers and offer flowers to the goddess. Be sure to provide a lotus flower.
Now, offer rice grains, a silver coin, fruits, and all the sweets along with the offerings.
Light a lamp with pure ghee.
Now, perform the aarti of Lord Ganesha and recite the Ganesh Chalisa.
Recite the aarti and mantras of Goddess Lakshmi.
Now place lamps in all corners of the house and put the Kaudi and other items used in the Mother Goddess’s worship in the safe. Wishing for happiness and prosperity, ask for forgiveness for any mistakes made during the puja.
