According to the Meteorological Department, temperatures in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana are expected to range between 40 and 45 degrees Celsius. Even today, there appears to be no immediate respite for Delhiites from the heat and heatwaves.

Since early morning, the Delhi-NCR region has been reeling under the onslaught of intense heat and blazing sunshine. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for thunderstorms accompanied by rain across 11 states—including Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and UP—starting today, April 27. If it rains, a slight dip in temperatures may be observed.

Delhi Rain Alert:

The situation in Delhi-NCR is miserable due to the severe heat. People appear visibly distressed by the relentless gusts of hot wind. Residents have confined themselves indoors to escape the heat.
Hot winds are blowing not only during the day but also at night. In several parts of Delhi, temperatures were recorded at 1.6 to 3.0 degrees Celsius above normal levels. Today, the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to hover between 43 and 45 degrees Celsius. However, there is also a possibility of thunderstorms and light rain in the evening. If light rain occurs in Delhi-NCR, it will provide significant relief from the heat.

Record-Breaking Heat in Delhi:

On Sunday, the maximum temperature in Delhi was 42.1 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 26.2 degrees Celsius. Compared to Saturday, a 1-degree increase in temperature was observed yesterday. Over the past five days, the nighttime temperature has risen by approximately 4.5 degrees. This April marks the highest night-time temperature recorded in the last five years.

 Bihar Weather Forecast

In Bihar, while several parts of the state are experiencing thunderstorms and rain, South Bihar is currently grappling with the onslaught of severe heat. The Meteorological Department issued an ‘Orange Alert’ on Monday for 13 districts of the state, warning of storms, rain, and hailstorms. During this period, strong winds with speeds of 50 kilometres per hour are expected to blow across these areas.
