New Delhi: If you travel by metro in the capital Delhi daily, then the government has given a shock. Now, travelling by metro in Delhi has become expensive. The government has increased the fare for passengers, due to which there is disappointment on everyone’s face. Not only this, the new rates have also been implemented from today, i.e. 25 August.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has shared this information through a post on X. The fare for passengers has been increased by one to four rupees. This increase has been made up to a maximum of 5 rupees on the Airport Express Line. According to DMRC, this amendment has been determined on the basis of distance.

It has been implemented as a minimum increase. With this, new fare slabs have now been implemented on all routes. Now passengers will be able to travel at these rates.

On what basis was the fixed
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has fixed the fare according to the distance of passengers. On normal days, the fare for a journey of 0-2 km has increased from Rs 10 to Rs 11. Along with this, the fare for 2-5 km has increased from Rs 20 to Rs 21. Apart from this, the fare for a distance of 5 to 12 km will now be Rs 2 extra instead of Rs 30, i.e. Rs 32.

The fare for a journey of 12-21 km has now become Rs 54. Earlier, the total fare for this distance was Rs 43. At the same time, such a change has been made on the Airport Express Line as well. Here, the fare has been increased from Rs 1 to Rs 5.
