Weather Alert – Cyclonic Circulation Brings Thunderstorms to South India, know

Weather Forecast – Winter has begun to arrive in most parts of North India, with temperatures dropping. Snowfall in many hilly areas late last night has brought temperatures down, leaving people feeling the chill. Meanwhile, the weather could disrupt Diwali celebrations in many parts of the country. A cyclonic circulation has become active near the Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep.

Due to this cyclonic circulation, rain and thunderstorms are expected. Its effects will be felt in only a few states. Meanwhile, the weather in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar is currently showing signs of clear weather. Clear weather has been expected since morning, with light sunshine also expected. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted rain in several states.

Possibility of rain with wind

The Meteorological Department believes this low-pressure area will form by October 19th. It is likely to turn into a depression on October 20th. This has prompted a warning of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh. According to the IMD, these areas may receive 50 to 70 mm of rainfall.

A flood warning has been issued for areas like Kochi, Tuticorin, Nellore, and Kanyakumari, along with strong winds. The IMD has also warned of an upper-air cyclonic storm in the Comorin region, which could worsen the situation in some areas.

Where will the heavy rain occur?

The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall in South Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Lakshadweep over the next two days. Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms is possible in Chennai, Pamban, and Palayankottai. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Konkan-Goa, and South Karnataka may experience moderate rainfall. Scattered drizzle is also expected in northeastern states like Manipur and Mizoram. An orange alert has also been issued for Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Where will the devastation occur?

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Chennai and the southern districts of Tamil Nadu over the next four days. Flooding is also possible here. Kerala is also expected to experience heavy rains until October 22nd.

A cyclone and landslide alert has been issued for Kochi-Thiruvananthapuram, along with Lakshadweep. Coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh are expected to experience moderate to heavy rains from the 17th to the 19th, and a storm alert has been issued for Nellore-Visakhapatnam. Heavy rains are possible in the southern and coastal areas from the 17th to the 19th.
