Change UPI PIN Without Debit Card – Payment apps like PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm typically require a UPI PIN to complete any online transfer. Without this PIN, you cannot send money, make payments, or authorise transactions. Traditionally, users were required to enter their debit card details to create or reset their UPI PIN. But now, NPCI has introduced a more straightforward, more accessible method: you can change or generate your UPI PIN using your Aadhaar card, without needing a debit card.

This new Aadhaar-based PIN setup is especially helpful for users who don’t have a debit card or have recently opened a bank account but haven’t yet received their ATM card.

What You Need Before Setting UPI PIN with Aadhaar

To use the Aadhaar option, two things are mandatory:

  1. Your Aadhaar must be linked to your mobile number.
  2. The same mobile number must be linked to your bank account.

Only then can the system verify your identity and send the OTP required to generate your PIN.
