Bihar Exit Polls Update – As voting for the Bihar Assembly elections concluded, several organisations released exit polls. All exit polls predicted an absolute majority for the NDA. Some predicted the NDA could even reach an absolute majority. If the exit polls prove correct, it would be a major setback for the entire Grand Alliance, including the RJD.

On the other hand, Azad Janata Dal (RJD) leader Mrityunjay Tiwari dismissed the exit polls. He expressed confidence that the Grand Alliance would form the government on November 14th. He stated that he was confident that the RJD and Congress would win by a landslide on the day of the results. He further stated that the people of Bihar had voted against the NDA and claimed that Tejashwi Yadav would become the Chief Minister.

What did the RJD say about the exit polls?

The RJD has dismissed the exit polls released after the second phase as false. RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav said that the bumper voter turnout in Bihar has shaken the BJP. Exit poll agencies provide information for money. By showing a lead in the exit polls, the BJP wants to exert psychological pressure on officials.

What did Congress say?

Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate has questioned the exit polls. She said, “I will not comment on the exit polls. We will discuss them when the results are out.” Targeting the NDA government, she said that Bihar will teach a lesson because its right to vote has been tampered with.

I am confident that the Grand Alliance will form the government. Congress MP Tariq Anwar said that exit polls are not accurate; they are merely speculations. They indicate what might happen; it would be inaccurate to assume they are accurate. Congress leader Rajesh Thakur also said that the actual results are completely different from the exit polls. If there is a high voter turnout anywhere, that is understandable.

Meanwhile, Congress candidate from the Bhagalpur assembly constituency, Ajit Sharma, has criticised the exit polls. He said, “The counting of votes is not complete; who can say who is winning?” To say that an NDA government is being formed is completely wrong… The public decides. The atmosphere in Bihar is such that the Grand Alliance will form the government.
