Bihar Election 2025: New announcements are being made daily for the people of Bihar ahead of the assembly elections scheduled for later this year. The countdown for the 2025 assembly elections has begun. According to sources, the Election Commission is expected to issue a notification in the first week of October.
This will trigger the implementation of the code of conduct across the state, and political activity will reach its peak. According to media reports, voting in Bihar may be held in two to three phases. The counting of votes will take place in November, and the results will be announced. The term of the Bihar Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on November 22, 2025.
In this regard, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced an unemployment allowance for unemployed youth. This means that graduates in Bihar will now receive ₹1,000 per month. On September 18, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that the Bihar government will provide financial assistance of ₹1,000 per month to unemployed graduates for a period of two years under the “Chief Minister’s Self-Help Allowance Scheme.”
Previously, this scheme was only applicable to unemployed youth who had passed the intermediate examination. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar posted on X on Thursday, writing, “Since the formation of the new government in November 2005, providing government jobs and employment to as many youth as possible, and empowering them, has been a top priority for us.” He further wrote, “The target has been set to provide government jobs and employment to 10 million youth in the next five years. In the coming years, a large number of new jobs and employment opportunities will be created in the government and private sectors.”

The Bihar Chief Minister further wrote that graduate youth between the ages of 20 and 25, who are not pursuing higher education, are looking for a job or employment, are not self-employed, and are not working in government, private, or non-government jobs, will be given an allowance of ₹1,000 per month for a maximum of two years. This visionary initiative by the state government aims to provide maximum employment opportunities to the state’s youth. The educated youth here should become self-reliant, skilled, and employment-oriented, and should be able to make their essential contribution to the development of the country and the state.
