Tecno has once again surprised everyone with its new concept phone – Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold. This phone is not yet available in the market, but its first look is so futuristic that everyone’s eyes are fixed on it. Tecno has officially unveiled this phone, and now it has been confirmed that this concept device will be showcased at MWC 2026. Meaning, right now this is just a glimpse of a powerful phone of the future, but whatever we have seen has won the hearts of technology lovers. Next-Level Folding Design
While other companies are still stuck with the dual-fold design, Tecno has introduced a new tri-fold design in this new concept, which they call the G-style folding mechanism. This design is not just stylish but also practical. When the phone is closed, its larger display inside folds inwards twice. This folding technique protects the display from scratches and accidental damage.
The hinge system of the phone is also special. It has a dual hinge design – a small waterdrop hinge that folds one side of the phone like a book, and a larger primary hinge that folds the remaining part upwards. Both hinges together make the phone absolutely secure and gapless when it is completely closed.
Ultra-Slim Body With Tough Build
Tecno claims that this is the world’s thinnest tri-fold smartphone. When the phone is folded, its thickness is just 11.49mm, which is equal to many dual-fold phones of today. And when the phone is fully unfolded, its thickness is just 3.49mm, which is considered to be the thinnest measurement in the industry so far.
This thin body has been made possible by the use of some new and strong materials. It uses 2000 MPa ultra-high-strength steel for the hinges and 0.3mm thick ultra-strong Titan Fiber for the back cover. This combination keeps the phone light and also makes it strong.
Cover Display For Daily Use
You don’t need to unfold the phone every time, as Tecno has also provided an extra cover display which gives the feel of a regular smartphone in the folded state. Meaning whenever you want to do small things like reading a message, receiving a call or using an app, you can simply use the cover display without opening the phone.
Mini Workstation Feel
Another powerful feature is its multi-angle hovering mode. There is a specially customized dual-cam design inside its hinge, which allows you to partially fold the phone at different angles. This also allows you to use the phone as a mini-laptop, such as while making video calls or multitasking. This mode gives you a flexible and productive experience.
Specifications that have just been revealed
When fully unfolded, the main display of the Tecno Phantom Ultimate G Fold measures 9.94-inches. This means that you get a full-size tablet in your hand, that too in the form of a pocket-size phone. Tecno has claimed that there will be minimal crease in the display, which is a big deal for foldable phones.
Talking about the battery, the company has confirmed that this phone will have more than 5000mAh battery, which is quite impressive for such a thin phone. The camera setup will be of triple camera system, but the exact megapixels or sensor details have not been revealed yet. Regarding the processor, only this much is known that it will be a high-performance chipset, but which one – Snapdragon or Dimensity – has not been revealed yet.
What is the launch and price scenario?
For now, this phone is a concept. Meaning it is not currently available for sale, nor has its official price been announced. But Tecno has definitely said that this phone will be officially showcased at MWC 2026. This means that even if it is launched commercially, it is possible by the end of 2026 or after that.
