Vivo V50e: The Vivo V50e 5G enters the mid-range category as a slim, lightweight phone with a focus on display and front camera. Powered by pre-installed Android 15, it promises to offer a clean and new smartphone experience in a thin body. But does it succeed amidst tough competition? Let’s find out.

Design and Build: Slim and Light

One of the first things you’ll notice about the Vivo V50e 5G is its sleek profile. At just 7.61mm thickness and weighing 186g, the phone feels extremely lightweight in hand without compromising on build quality. It features an in-display fingerprint sensor for a modern touch, and the design is clean with a punch-hole camera cutout at the front.

Display: Vibrant but Not the Sharpest

It has a 6.77-inch AMOLED screen that shows vibrant colors with the backing of P3 wide color gamut and HDR10+ support. While the resolution is 1080 x 2392 pixels, the pixel density of 387ppi is rather underwhelming for the size, which means subpar sharpness. The silver lining is that the panel includes up to 1800 nits of local peak brightness and silky-smooth 120Hz refresh rate, making media viewing and scrolling an absolute pleasure.

Camera: Decent Selfies, Mid-Range Rear Configuration

The company has gone for a dual camera rear setup, 50MP primary with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The rear camera is decent in daylight, but not excellent under low-light conditions. In front, however, the 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor is great with clear-cut, high-resolution selfies and 4K video capture. It’s a nice choice for vloggers and selfie-crazies.

Performance: Reliable for Everyday Usage

Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300 and an octa-core 2.5GHz processor, the V50e completes daily operations and light games quickly. It is fitted with 8GB of RAM in addition to an additional virtual RAM of 8 GB. The 128GB storage will feel tight on heavy users, and no provision for expandable storage could deter others.

Battery and Charging: Quick and Copious

It sports a 5600mAh battery that easily lasts through the day, even on extended usage. And even more exciting is the inclusion of 90W FlashCharge support that swiftly replenishes the battery. And yes, it does support reverse charging as well, making it that much convenient to use. But there isn’t a 3.5mm headphone port or FM radio support, something which may disappoint vintage users.

Verdict: A Good Pick for Design and Charging

Vivo V50e 5G leads in appearance, screen luminosity, selfie performance, and charging speed. It is neither a performance monster nor a camera king on the rear panel, but it is a sufficiently balanced smartphone for common consumers who want modern features, lightness, and stable performance in the mid-range category.
