The starting pricing of the Realme GT 7T is Rs 34,999. Power and efficiency are perfectly balanced for a performance-focused smartphone with integrated gaming features.

With the release of the Realme GT 7 (Review) and Realme GT 7T, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Realme has extended its GT line in India. With a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen and a MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Max chipset, the latter is marketed as a low-cost choice. However, this smartphone’s enormous capacity 7000mAh battery is its unique selling point.

The Realme GT 7T went through real-world testing. Let us see if it performs well as a mid-ranger.

Design of the Realme GT 7T

The Realme GT 7T features a boxy style, rounded corners, and relatively thick (8.25mm) frames. It features the Realme logo at the bottom right corner and a camera island with two lenses and a ring-LED flash on the back panel in the top left corner. It has three color options on the market: Racing Yellow, IceSense Black, and IceSense Blue. It also has a vegan leather finish on the back. The Racing Yellow color of the unit we received for review may appeal to some people

The power button and volume controls are on the right frame, while the side frame, which has a matte appearance, contains both. The matte surface on the left frame remains clean. The speaker grille, SIM slot, and USB-C type connection for data transfer and charging are all located on the bottom frame.

Even when used for extended periods of time, the smartphone’s rounded corners and light weight make it comfortable to carry. However, because of its size, one may occasionally feel the desire to set the phone down on something rather than holding it all the time.

Realme GT 7T: Audio and display

The 6.8-inch, 1.5K screen of the Realme GT 7T features a refresh rate of 120 Hz. As stated by the company, this flat display panel has a maximum brightness of 1800 nits, making it ideal for use outside in direct sunlight. I was pleased with the brightness when I used this smartphone for GPS navigation while riding a motorcycle in direct sunshine. Notably, there is a significant disparity between the GT 7T’s brightness of 1800 nits and the Realme GT 7T’s max brightness of 6000 nits. But the brightness appeared satisfactory in spite of the disparity.

As flat displays do not have ghostly touches and the multimedia experience on them seems no less than on curved ones, I have always preferred them. The whole viewing experience is further enhanced by the presence of thin bezels. Particularly with regard to deep blacks and high contrast, the color reproduction on the screen appears to be rather accurate and not overly saturated. It works well for multimedia and games. The 120Hz refresh rate also provided quick navigation, fluid animations, and seamless scrolling.

The Realme GT 7T has Hi-Res audio certification and supports OReality audio. The built-in stereo speakers produced nice sound, but it was not very loud. The audio output looked to be loud enough when viewing movies and listening to music, but it was difficult to hear enemy footsteps when playing games like BGMI. Up until 80 percent, the audio loudness grows gradually; beyond that, it seems like the level increases quickly.

Camera on the Realme GT 7T

The 50MP primary Sony IMX896 sensor at the front of the Realme GT 7T’s twin back camera array is joined by an 8MP ultrawide sensor. In daylight, the main camera functions nicely. It appears that color reproduction is accurate and nearly natural. However, the edges of objects—especially faces—tend to be softened by the camera. The rear camera performs poorly when used in low light.

The ultrawide sensor functions flawlessly and produces color output identical to that of the primary camera. The 2x zoom-in allows the camera to capture close-up shots without compromising on detailing. However, due to the absence of a macro sensor, the smartphone finds it difficult to retain all the details in its photos.

The 32MP IMX615 sensor on the Realme GT 7T works well both inside and outdoors for video calls and selfies. Compared to the primary camera, it is marginally better at capturing details. When in default mode, the front camera blurs the background and softens facial features.

Realme GT 7T: Gaming and performance

The Realme GT 7T, which is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Max, easily manages demanding and multitasking games like BGMI, Asphalt Legends, and EA Sports FC Mobile Football. During use, I did not observe any noticeable lag. It was quick and easy to launch games, apps, and switch between them.

There is a special “GT Mode” to improve gaming performance because this is a GT model. Several enhancements to performance intended to enhance gameplay are unlocked by turning on GT Mode. These include enhanced touch response for greater control, AI-based motion control for more fluid movement, and Geek Power Tuning to maximize system performance during demanding gameplay. Game Focus Mode blocks notifications while you play, which helps you avoid distractions. Also, Frame Plus increases frame rates up to 120 frames per second on compatible games, while AI Super Resolution sharpens in-game graphics.

Realme says that the smartphone’s 360-degree Ultimate Cooling is made possible by the graphene back cover, which efficiently dissipates heat. By using cold-front air convection, the vapor chamber improves cooling. But even with all of this, I occasionally had minor heating problems. The smartphone typically gets hot while charging, but the gadget also  watching YouTube videos. As expected, intense gaming sessions spike the temperature.

AI and OS tools for the Realme GT 7T

Realme UI 15, which is based on Android 6.0, powers the Realme GT 7T. It includes a number of AI tools, including

AI Planner: Helps with event scheduling and reminder setting by detecting information on the screen. Nevertheless, I have found that the double-tap gesture rarely activates.

Real-time translation of texts, conversations, and scenes is supported by AI Translator. If necessary, users can translate individual areas of the screen or the entire screen.

AI Smart Loop: Based on what is shown, suggests pertinent actions like sharing or saving. Users may be prompted to upload screenshots straight to Google Photos, for example.

AI Recording Summary: Even with subpar audio quality, this technology can turn lengthy audio recordings into succinct bullet points.

Tools for AI Studio

AI Motion, AI Reimage, and AI Portrait

AI Glare Remover, AI Eraser, and AI Ultra Clarity (very efficient)

The GT 7 supports Google Gemini in addition to Realme’s built-in AI technologies, which consist of:

Easy access to the Gemini assistance

Real-time interface

Capacity to share the camera and screen

Realme GT 7T: Charging and Battery

With a 7,000mAh capacity, the Realme GT 7T has one of the biggest batteries in its class. The smartphone’s battery comfortably lasts more than a day even with heavy use, such as playing hard games, viewing videos and shows, and taking pictures and videos. It can also provide you with more than two days of battery backup if you use it lightly.

The phone can be charged from 0% to 50% in less than 20 minutes thanks to its 120W connected rapid charging capability. In roughly forty minutes, the smartphone will be fully charged.

Verdict

From those seeking a superb gaming smartphone to those seeking a huge capacity battery, the Realme GT 7T caters to nearly every customer niche. The smartphone provides an excellent flagship experience for the price, however it has a few drawbacks that are quite inconspicuous.

It is a trustworthy mid-ranger that one can rely on because it manages everyday chores and gaming effectively. I would advise choosing the Icesense Blue color option if you value looks.

In conclusion, the Realme GT 7T is a potent smartphone with a ton of features that offers remarkable performance with little sacrifices within its price range.
